Track & Trail Sprint Duathlon

The first year of our unique Duathlon event, centered at the Juan de Fuca velodrome, in the Juan de Fuca Recreation Center in Colwood. Our our event is an 'Omnium' race, with four events as follows:

Times will be collected by athletes in all four events (note: no transitions, each event is run with one or two people on the track at a time) and medals and ribbons will be awarded five deep for the overall in all four events. Specialists are welcome to compete in any events, and take top prize for individual events as well!

There will be plenty of draw prizes (valued over $1200!), and a Kiddy Kilo run and bike event, if sufficient numbers attend. Entry is $25.

Note: Riders are welcome to bring whatever type of bicycle they own (road, TT, mountain, etc), at most two riders will be on the track at any one time, and no prior velodrome experience is needed, as riders are only expected to stick to the black line. A 'Learn to Race' session, as provided by the Greater Victoria Velodrome Association would be ideal, but not necessary. Short periods of time will be given to each category to 'try' the track between heats, including brief instruction.
